5 tricks to improve your low poly models (Blender)
Today I will show you some great tricks for low poly modeling.
5. Leaf modeling
To model a leaf you can either use a sphere or a cube. with the sphere, you can scale it down from the top and one side then you can use the O command to do large curves and then you can scale the middle down, and boom you have a leaf.
4. Low poly animals
For making a low-poly animal, it is essential to get references for your animal, then you can scale planes up sideways and match them up to your reference then you need to extrude the face and then make it look 3d by adjusting the polygons.
and if you get an odd face delete it then use the f key to fill it but with triangles.
3.Tree's
Trees are real easy just get a cylinder and make it have between 6-9 verts and start extruding a trunk then duplicate the trunk shrink it and then add it as a branch.
to make the leaves you make a icosphere and use O to adjust it a little then attach it to a branch then boom you have a tree.
2. Landscape
The landscape is pretty easy you start off by making an uv sphere and cut it in half then you make some loop cuts press O and make some hills and divots then use the decimate modifier and adjust it to your liking.
1. Texture pad
This is the most important thing for low poly modeling without it your models look trash.
First, you need to make a texture pad, to make that you need to go to pixel art and put colors on it.
Then you need to go to shading and then drag and drop the texture pad into it, then attach it to the base bsds color node.
Lastly, go to texture paint then go into the base texture node and change the settings to texture and then turn to shade on lastly go to the cavity and turn both on and turn it all onto full.
I hope you start making killer low-poly models.
Bye.
